The work of artist Travis Collinson is simultaneously eerily familiar and enigmatically unrecognizable. Graphite and chalk works on paper depict scenes that are hauntingly reminiscent of lives caught between awkward adolescence and an underwhelming adulthood. Like chapters from a book of short stories, the landscapes and characters Collinson creates are unique to the artists elegantly warped imagination. Seemingly of another place and time, they are evocative of displaced memories we all keep in reserve.

Collinson has shown throughout California, most recently at the Berkeley Art Museum exhibition Hauntology. His works are in the collection of the Berkeley Art Museum as well as numerous private collections. Collinson holds a BFA in painting from California State University at Fullerton and has taught life drawing for the California College of the Arts in both the Extended Education Department and the Young Artist Studio Program.
